The Gophers’ leading scorer and rebounder the past three seasons is scheduled to play in the NBA’s summer league next month.

Minnesota Gophers forward Dawson Garcia was signed by the NBA’s Detroit Pistons on Friday. The University of Minnesota reported he is scheduled to compete in the NBA 2K26 Summer League.

Garcia will look to do the same with the Pistons this year. Christie appeared in only 13 games as a rookie for the Clippers at the NBA level, and most of his time was spent in the G-League.

Former Gophers forward Dawson Garcia hasn't been routinely mentioned among sure-fire prospects in this year's class, but he'll likely get a chance to prove himself in the NBA in some way or another.
