The president of New York University’s College Republicans chapter resigned after she said in a magazine interview that Barron Trump is “sort of an oddity on campus.”  College Republicans of America posted Monday on the social platform X that Kaya Walker resigned after controversy broke out due to an interview she did with Vanity Fair in which she said President Trump’s 18-year-old son was “sort of like an oddity on campus.

NEW YORK − Five days after the president of New York University’s College Republicans described Barron Trump as an “oddity on campus,” she was forced to resign from her position − a decision she now says she regrets.

The president of the NYU College Republicans resigned on Sunday after calling Stern first-year Barron Trump “an oddity on campus” in an interview with Vanity Fair. Former club president Kaya Walker told the magazine that President Donald Trump’s son has been subject to excessive attention since enrolling in the university last fall.

“Barron Trump represents the future of the conservative movement, and we would be honored to have him join the College Republicans of America,” wrote College Republicans President Will Donahue, who also noted that the group had broken a 100-year precedent by endorsing his father before the Republican primary.

The president of New York University’s College Republicans was forced to resign for calling Barron Trump “an oddity on campus” — with the group then asking the first son to join it in “shaping the future of our party.

The College Republicans of America, from which Walker resigned as NYU chapter president, called her remarks "inappropriate."
