On Dec. 25, 1963, Roxbury-MGM unveiled the 135-minute film The Prize, starring Paul Newman, Edward G. Robinson and Elke Sommer.

Robinson returned to the stage for several years and then went on to act in more than 40 films. Somehow befittingly, his last role came in the cult classic b-movie Soylent Green (1973).

We were just talking about Edward G. Robinson. He was never going to kiss the girl at the end of the movie, so that whole aspect of the human experience wasn't available to him as an actor.
