The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has announced a significant change, renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America" in all official materials. This change is being implemented in accordance with President Donald Trump's Executive Order 14172 and FWC Executive Order 25-04.

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold a virtual meeting on March 13 at 6 p.m. to discuss regulating black bear hunting.

FWC Executive Director Roger Young said that the first meeting, open to anyone "who wants to provide feedback" on a potential bear hunt, will be held on March 13.

Florida wildlife officials will hold a series of online meetings in March and April about the possibility of a return to bear hunting in the state.
