Rogelio “Roger” Nores, a close friend of Liam Payne who was one of the last people to see the former One Direction singer alive, believes that Payne’s death was the result of an “extremely unfortunate” series of events.

Drugs are the only thing to blame in the death of former One Direction star Liam Payne, according to a close friend who was cleared last month of charges he was involved with the singer's death.

"This is a time of tremendous grief and pain for those who knew and loved him," said the family of Payne's death in October 2024 in a statement

The family's statement comes after manslaughter charges were dropped against hotel staff Gilda Martin, Esteban Grassi and Liam's associate, Roger Nores, in the case surrounding the One Direction star's death.
