TIMING: Snow begins 1-3 a.m. across Maine Thursday morning. It will fall steadily through the morning commute with slick travel expected. A changeover to sleet or even freezing drizzle is likely by mid-morning, and coastal areas will likely see a brief period of plain rain.

We'll focus on Thursday's storm first. It's the follow up to a storm Wednesday that passes very far to our south. This low comes out of the Rocky Mountains and treks across the central U.S. before moving northeast towards us here in Maine.
