Move over, Dallas Cowboys. There’s a new and unlikely America’s Team in the NFL — at least for the Super Bowl.

In the NFC Championship Game, the Eagles were the beneficiary of an upset in Detroit in the divisional round, when the Lions' injury-battered defense finally gave way and suffered a loss at the hands of the Commanders, giving Philadelphia home-field advantage in the conference finale, against the NFC's No. 6 seed.

The Eagles are the only team that beat Vince Lombardi in the postseason, handing the legendary Packers coach a 17-13 loss in the 1960 NFL Championship. That was Lombardi’s second year as head coach in Green Bay and his first playoff game with the team.

Grammy-winning artist Kendrick Lamar will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans. The rap megastar, who has won 17 Grammys, said he’s looking forward to bringing hip-hop to the NFL’s championship game, where he performed as a guest artist with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Eminem in 2022.
