According to police, during the interrogation, the accused, Manikandan, revealed that he murdered Deepa, a sex worker, using a hammer after a quarrel broke out as she was demanding more money from him.

A 35-year-old woman’s body was found stuffed inside a suitcase on a road in Chennai’s Thoraipakkam on Thursday morning, a senior police official said.

The woman, who has been identified as Deepa, 32, hailed from Chennai’s Manali area. According to media reports, after conducting investigation into the incident, police detained a 23-year-old man named Manikandan, who resides 100 metres from the location where the suitcase was found, India Today reported.
