President Donald Trump may have delayed most – though not all – of the tariffs he had imposed on Canada and Mexico, but that hasn’t stopped America’s northern neighbors from responding forcefully in retaliation.

Ontario’s premier announced that effective Monday it is charging 25% more for electricity to 1.5 million Americans. Canada’s most populous province provides electricity to Minnesota, New York and Michigan.

Ontario has placed a surcharge of 25 per cent on electricity exported to the United States as of Monday, and the government says it could raise that amount even higher in response to further American escalation.
