Apple Cider Vinegar is streaming on Netflix and the series tells the true story of Australian scammer Belle Gibson (played by Kaitlyn Dever). She lied about having a brain tumour and monetized the fake diagnosis by launching an app called The Whole Pantry.

Chanelle in "Apple Cider Vinegar" is similar to Chanelle McAuliffe, one of Belle Gibson's friends who tipped off reporters that the influencer was suspicious.

The is billed as a “true-ish story based on a lie" and is inspired by a 2017 book, “The Woman Who Fooled the World,” by two investigative journalists, Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, who explored Gibson’s deception.
