Joann Fabrics and Crafts announced it would close roughly 530 stores, including six West Michigan locations, earlier this month. Although the major chain is closing its locations one by one, there are plenty of locally-owned small businesses to check out that sell their fair share of crafting supplies.

More than 30 Joann stores are closing in Michigan as the craft store giant works through bankruptcy proceedings.

Joann, the fabrics and crafts retailer, is closing more than half of its 800 stores in the coming months as it continues to navigate the bankruptcy process.
