Illinois residents making their way around on Wednesday may have noticed flags outside businesses and official building flying at half staff, and it's to honor a fallen Illinois State Trooper.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker issued an order for flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Illinois State Police Trooper Corey S. Thompsen, 28, who was killed in the line of duty on October 18th, 2024.
