Manchester City's eighth Premier League defeat of the season at home to Liverpool on Sunday left Pep Guardiola's side 20 points off the pace set by their opponents but of more immediate concern is making sure they qualify for the Champions League.

However, one player celebrated more strongly than most, as Kostas Tsimikas “virtually” invaded the Manchester City technical area to cheer “right behind” Pep Guardiola – according to Simon Stone of the BBC.

Pep Guardiola accepts Manchester City are not challenging Liverpool for the title this season but is convinced they can still match them on their day. After winning the Premier League for the past four years, City find themselves in an unfamiliar position outside the race for top spot this season.
