SL Green and its partners on their Times Square casino proposal have dropped their controversial plan to award millions of dollars to a politically influential apartment complex in Hell’s Kitchen, announcing Monday that they will instead shift the funds to a neighborhood nonprofit for more general use.

Mayor Eric Adams said he was aware of the situation unfurling at 26 Federal Plaza and New York Fire Department hazmat teams were on site to ensure safety.

Several dozen protesters marched from City Hall Park to 26 Federal Plaza in Tribeca, where immigrant detainees are allegedly being held on the 10th floor in crowded and inhumane conditions.
