In a memorandum released by his office, Kulleseid announced that Gov. Kathy Hochul's proposed state budget includes money for a new Park Police Academy class this fall, with the hiring of its graduates in the spring of 2023.

May 3, 2020 · Solid point, but regardless of hiring freeze or not, if there isn’t a new exam or list established the current list applies for future classes. Regardless of what back and fourth the state and fed have NYS will (in my opinion) be receiving money to compensate a good portion of costs of this pandemic.

Yes, as long as you are a peace officer that is permitted to carry a firearm as defined in section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law you are exempt from almost all of NYS's prohibitive laws as they pertain to firearms.
